Welcome To The Waiheke Island Steiner School
We believe in education that inspires children to trust themselves, to develop their own gifts and solve problems in new ways. Arts and practical skills make their essential contribution, educating not only head, but the heart and hands as well.
Waiheke Island is a warm temperate island situated in the Hauraki Gulf, a half hour ferry ride from central Auckland. For over twenty years Fossil Bay Steiner kindergarten has been operating on Waiheke and is a place where many children and families have experienced the beneficial fruits of early childhood Steiner education.
Our school is a place where children can enjoy their journey with Steiner education. A school where the whole child, the head, the heart and the hands are given equal importance.
An education that embraces the outdoors and the natural world as a classroom and an education that helps children become well balanced, creative, compassionate human beings.
We are a provisionally registered school which opened in May 2017.
